A seed bank of audio organisms

Five seeds.
One when you need space.
One when you need warmth.
One when you need drift.
One when you need memory.
One when you need dreams.
Plant a Frø.

When the idea is stuck, plant a seed. The plugin doesn't fix the sound — it gives the sound a direction to grow.

The Field Guide

Five specimens, one philosophy.

Each Frø is a different kind of creative seed. Drop one on a stuck loop, hit a specimen, let it grow.

FRØ · BERGEN · N° 01

AETHER

aether borealis

REVERBERANS · A SPATIAL SEED

A chamber organism cultivated in cold northern light. Send MIDI and three voices track the held chord, breathing inside a feedback bloom; let go and Drift wanders the size, Freeze suspends the cathedral indefinitely. Six specimens, six different reverb architectures — plate diffusion, pure FDN, BBD-companded tape, breathing space — under one set of knobs.

EMBER

ignis ember

IGNIS · A WARMTH SEED

Plant Ember on a sound that has no history. Six combustion architectures share one spine — biased tubes through a gated ringmod into a self-oscillating comb — with a single Bloom knob that walks the whole thing from polite kindling to about-to-combust. Pitch Source switches the comb's tuning between a fixed drone, the input's tracked root, and the held MIDI note, so the comb hums in tune with whatever you plant it on.

POLLEN

echotis pollen

ECHOTIS · A DRIFT SEED

Plant Pollen on a held chord and listen for the partials hidden inside it. The plugin tracks them in real time and plays each one as a separate note in a BPM-synced step sequencer — your chord becomes the instrument, the harmonics become the keys. Six specimens dial the grain personality, from glassy chime bells to recursive fern feedback to spectral mirror inversion.

MOSS

rudera moss

RUDERA · A MEMORY SEED

Plant Moss on a clean recording and pick a medium for it to remember through. Cassette, ¼" reel, 1930s magnetic wire, Edison wax cylinder, DAT, 8-track — six recording technologies, each with its own Jiles-Atherton magnetic curve, head bump, and mechanical character. A dual-FFT spectral-memory stage breathes underneath; Mangle knobs reach for the bias, the print-through ghosts, the bit-crush, the stylus drag.

MIRAGE

mirage somnium

SOMNIUM · A WHISPERED SEED

Plant Mirage on a sound that needs somewhere to be. Ten dream-places, each with its own physics: a chamber, a prism that splits highs from lows across separate predelays, a 4-tap FDN drifting at 0.15 Hz, a tide swelling between octave-up shimmer and octave-down rumble, a Schroeder void with frequency-dependent dispersion. Or invoke Membrane mode and the input borrows its frequency content from the loaded sample, keeping only its own rhythm — phantom orchestra, voice through stained glass.

From the Atelier

I built Frø because I wanted plugins that did the wow first and the work second.

After fifteen years of producing in Bergen, I had a folder of ideas where the source material was right but the sound was lifeless — clean takes that needed history, generic synths that needed warmth, sketches that needed a direction to go in. None of the plugins I owned could give me that. They asked me to dial. I needed something that could plant.

Every Frø is a seed. Drop one on a stuck idea, hit a specimen, let it grow. If you want to tweak, the rack is right there. If you don't, the universe will find you.
